Oakwood Manor is a private stable where
we specialize in one-on-one attention to our horses
and our students. With over 25 years of experience
as a coach, judge, clinician and competitor at the
local, regional, and national levels, you will be in
capable hands.
We
offer english, western, and barrel racing training and
lessons for beginner through advanced riders. We always
have several nice horses for sale. Give us a call and we
will help you find a perfect match!
Our stable is located just outside of
Binghamton, New York, a few minutes from routes
81, 12,17, 79, and 88. We have a large outdoor
and indoor arena as well as great trails!

Be sure to check out our stallion,
Nexavar, by
clicking on the at stud tab above. We are
very pleased with his first few foal crops and
have been enjoying his successes
including an ARHA World Championship in
conformation, Barrel Racing Futurity Championship,
several AQHA World Show qualifications, and numerous
First Division Barrel Racing wins as well as being
an arena record holder! We are very proud of
all of his accomplishments. It takes a special
stallion to be competing and breeding successfully.

Our training philosophy is one of celebrating
each step of the long process in helping a young,
green horse develop into the exceptionally
gifted, talented, and confident competitor that
he or she holds within. The following
quote, by Timothy Gallway, reminds me of this
concept:
When we plant a rose seed in the earth, we
notice it is small, but we do
not criticize it
as "rootless and stemless." We treat it as
a seed, giving it the water and nourishment
required of a seed.
When it first shoots up out of the earth, we
don't condemn it as immature and underdeveloped;
we do not criticize the buds for not being open
when they appear. We stand in wonder at
the process taking place, and give the plant the
care it needs at each stage of its development.
The
rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the
time it dies. Within it, at all times, it
contains its whole potential.
It seems to be constantly in the process of
change: Yet at each state, at each moment,
it is perfectly all right as it is.
A flower is not better when it blooms than when
it is merely a bud; at each stage it is the same
thing . . . a flower in the process of
expressing its potential.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
by Mother Teresa
People
are often unreasonable and
self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may
accuse you of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may
cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people
may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be
forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you
have, and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it
is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
